Q: What stocks should i consider investing in?
Which stocks have high growth potential, or will likely be able to make me a good profit. (I can invest both long and short term) just please tell me which stock(s) should be a long term investment, and which stock(s) should be a short term investment. Thank you so much, I will choose a best answer.
A: if you want cheap and safe stock and invest on long term i suggest you should buy C, and BAC because government will never let these big bank fail and eventually it will double your money
Q: How do I track down stocks that I bought through a now non-operational investment banker?
I purchased 200 stocks in a company back in 1997 through H.J. Meyers & Co. Inc. From looking online they appear to have closed their doors amongst some scandal some time ago. The company I bought stock in is still operating (PMTI). How do I claim my stock certificates and succesfully sell my stock in this company ?
A: You should have received regular documentation, including confirmation of the number of shares you own, and your own exclusive shareholders number, either from the company, or from a stock exchange sponsoring agent. You should also have received dividend payments. If none of this has happened, it's possible that Meyers & Co. have purchased the stock in their own name, and you have now lost your money.
If you have been getting dividends, and they were paid to you through Meyer & Co., this confirms what I have suggested.
Q: What are some good buy opportunities for stocks during this recession?
Given that a lot of stocks are down at the moment, what are some good buy opportunities? I don't want to buy stock that will keep going down and be worthless, but if there are some good buys now that are safe I'd like to invest in some. I can afford to wait a while if it means a good turnaround.

Q: What are some Stocks that will make a good amount of money in a month?
I am having a compition with a family member. If i can find a stock that makes money in the next month i get to keep what it made, and if they lose money i have to pay. What are some stocks that should keep making money for the next couple of months?
A: asking a question like that tells me you should stay far away from the stock market. But highly volatile stocks are likely to either kick your ass or make you some money
Q: How can I predict that the stocks will breakaway?
From technical analysis people can look at the stock chart and predict that the stock will breakaway and go up. I want to learn more about technical analysis, so I can be better with stocks’ trading.
A: Well, one doesn't *predict* breakouts. It is just that some situation are more favourable for breakouts than others.
Typical good pattern are triangles and flags. In both cases uptrending stocks temporarily go sideways, when for a while more people want to go out than come in. After a while those who wanted to sell have done so, which shows in the dropping volume.
In those cases you would put your buy stop just above the triangle.
You are not predicting the breakout, just waiting for it to happen.
If it doesn't, you aren't filled and that's it.
Q: What are the best blue chip stocks to buy right now?
I am starting to build a core portfolio of large-cap/blue chip stocks as a foundation. By the time I'm done I want about 7-10 stocks across different market sectors. I want to buy these at the right times based on where the economy is in its cycle. Given the current market, where should I start to look for the first 2-3 stocks for my portfolio? I've been considering XOM and MSFT thus far.
A: Buy the 30 Dow Components over time and hold them forever, then tell your heirs to hold them forever.........
Buy even dollar amounts of each company and then go play golf. They are all on sale now so it doesn't matter which ones you buy. Thats the easy part. The hard part is to never liquidate them.
Q: What are some good stocks to research if you're one who wants to buy low and sell high?
I'm looking to get into the stock market soon with this big drop in the stock market. What are some stocks to do research on if you want to buy low and sell high. Also should one wait to buy stocks for a few more weeks or even months to see if the stock market continues to go down?
A: The stock market will most likely continue to go down for a while.
I say right now it is a good time to start shorting stocks.
When we see them start to go back up then we can buy.
This is a good website that will help you find what you are looking for.
Q: What stocks are good to buy right now?
I'm looking to buy stocks to hold on to for about 1 to 2 years. I heard that "Hot Stocks" are not necessarily the best way to go because they sometimes turn out to be disappointments. Does anyone have any suggestions on what stocks would be good to get and what stocks to stay away from. It would be really helpful. Thanks!
A: Why are you buying stocks now? We are many years from bottoming, that wait until 2011 or 2012 or 2013 to get in when the DOW is lower than 2,000. The economic collapse is serious and the stocks path of least resistance are WAY LOWER and we are in a severe bear market with NO FUNDAMENTALS that are good.
If you invest in anything, I would recommend Gold, Silver or Shorting this phony economy
Peace and light :)

Q: How do I find stocks that are going straight to the basement in the short term?
I trade options and I'm trying to create a system to find the very worst stocks to play with. The ones nobody wants that are doomed to get killed. How do you spot these terrible stocks? Where do you get information from?
A: It's not easy. Some useful measures:
- very high price to sales ratios,
- very high or non-existent p.e. ratios,
- negative or slowing revenue growth,
- high debt to equity ratios, and
- 'concept' or 'story' stocks; when the story fades the stocks tend to collapse.
So, is it time to short SBUX?
Q: How can I purchase stocks without going through a brokerage?
I want to buy some stocks on a budget ($300) but I don't want to join a brokerage or anything. I want to purchase stocks and just keep them. Any information as to how and where would be greatly appreciated.
A: Try reading, "How to Buy Stocks Without a Broker." There are companies that will provide info on which companies will allow you to buy stocks direct. The two best are www.drip-investor.com and www.moneypaper.com. You can also buy stocks through them, but you don't need to. Something like 900 companies allow you to buy stocks directly. Google on "direct purchase stock" or "dividend reinvestment plan."
